RESNET HERS Modeler Exam

The RESNET HERS Modeler Exam is to be taken after completing all of the other FSEC modeler classes,  passing the FSEC Residential Energy Modeler exam and taking and submitting the EnergyGauge USA Practice Home: Cold Climate.

The exam is proctored either at FSEC or remotely. The scheduled dates provided below are conducted at the FSEC Training Center, located at 1679 Clearlake Road, Cocoa, FL 32922. During the exam time you will be doing take-offs from plans and entering the data into EnergyGauge software. At the conclusion of the exam you will submit your completed forms and an .enb file for the project. At a later date, the FSEC trainer will get back with you regarding your grade and any other feedback.

This is an open-resource exam. You will NOT be able to use a cell phone, camera, scanner or other device for copying data but may use whatever books, notes, or other resources you have access to, including the online courses you already purchased. You will have up to 5 hours to complete the exam, plus breaks (including lunch on your own).

Pricing schedule:

• If taken at FSEC
  • $50 for exam (no additional fees)
• If remotely proctored:
  • $50 for exam
  • $40 FSEC remote proctoring fee
  • Additional fee set by the remote proctor.

For remote proctoring, select “Remote” as the location & date when registering below. Note that remote proctoring must be at a college, university, or testing center determined together with FSEC staff, and set-up in advance— if you select remote proctoring, additional details and instructions will be emailed to you after you register.

If you do not pass this exam, you may retake it once without any additional fee if taken at FSEC (if retaken via a remote proctor, there will be no additional fee for the exam itself, but the above proctoring fees will apply). Any additional retakes will require paying the exam fee again.
