Description

This on-demand, online training course will teach the basics of the home energy rating system (HERS). The course can be valuable if you want to become an energy modeler or HERS rater, or calculate energy code using the ERI method, or just want to gain knowledge of the program. Most of this course is generic for HERS ratings anywhere. It describes the HERS program, including the RESNET standards. In the last two lessons we will describe some HERS specifics to becoming a HERS rater under FSEC’s quality assurance providership and using EnergyGauge software for ratings. If you are with another HERS provider and are using another software tool, the information we present will be similar to other processes, but you’ll need to learn your provider’s process and software separately.
