Residential Energy Modeler Exam

To complete the Residential Energy Modeler Exam:

1) Download the two files below:
Building Plans
Builder Interview

2) Working from the plans and builder interview, enter the project into EnergyGauge USA

3) Complete all entries required for a Home Energy Rating

4) Calculate a HERS (IAF) rating
(this is done by selecting from the main menu options:
“Calculate | Rating… | HERS (IAF) with HVACG”)

5) Make revisions if you receive any error messages

6) Export an ENB file from EnergyGauge USA
(this is done by selecting from the main menu options:
“File | Export Current Project as *.ENB File“)

7) Name the file as follows:
FSECModelerExam_[last name]_[first initial]_[year]_[month]_[day]
For example, if Will Johnson took the test on May 7, 2022 the file name would be: “FSECModelerExam_Johnson_W_2022_05_07”

8) Click the button “View the lesson quiz” below, and upload the ENB on the page that appears.
